Anyone been out there to see if there are good deals to be had? Heard about it on the radio the other day and was wondering what they had slashed prices on if anything.

Them - in a place the size of Dallas? Holy moley - wonder why.
Hate to hear of any large outfit quitting ... seems like a slow attrition process as dealers generally pack up and quit over time.

I was surprised to hear they were closing up as well. However, its a pretty competitive place to be. We have two Bass Pro's and a Cabela's in Dallas/Ft Worth area.

One of the two in San Antonio (the one at 410 and 151) is also closing. It wasn't the best location, and we got a Bass Pro about a year ago as well as a Dick's coming. The first day of the Going Out of Business Sale must've been good, as when I got there it was wiped out. Well, at least the handguns were. I got a small deal on a small bag for my shortie shottie but was pissed in that I bought two rifle socks and they were not on sale. But my receipt was still stamped 'No Refunds or Returns.' That's BS...but I still hate to see them go as I bought my XD and a 1911 from there. However, I think the robbery last year, where something like 90 handguns were stolen, plus the fact that the store never operated out of the red (this from an employee I talked with) means this is no big surprise...
