    The bad guy's last thoughts

    I got into the ''waxing lyrical mode'' earlier - for no particular reason!!

    Here is a short piece I threw together, as maybe thought by the bad guy who assumed wrong!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Here I lie, bloody and messed,
    One in my gut and one in my chest.
    I only wanted cash, a habit to feed
    And my gun was for show, yet now I bleed.
    Would I take life to suit my aims?
    Sure I would - it's part of my games,
    But I thought little 'bout others, also with arms
    So here I lie - feeling regret and some qualms.
    In my dwindling stages of conscious time
    I see there's no point to a life of crime.
    Not when faced with equality of force
    From determined good guys, with no remorse.
    Good poem, Chris
    When I saw the title of your thread, my first thought was that it would be something like "Oh, $#&@, is that a..... :bigeyes2: "
    And (please forgive me this trespass) your poem made me think of this epitaph:
    Here I lie, dyin' and bloody
    My last words were
    "stick em' up, buddy"
    "I surrounded 'em"- Alvin York
    "They're ain't many troubles that a man can't fix with seven hundred dollars and a thirty ought six"- Jeff Cooper
    Thumbs up Chris
    You are like a real Maya Angelou.The poet that Billy Boy Clinton appointed to be our National Poet...that could not make anything fit together
    Oh...She is called The Inaugural Poet
    Here is her BEST piece of work that I could find on the web.
    "Phenomenal Woman"
    ...Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can't touch
    My inner mystery.
    When I try to show them
    They say they still can't see.
    I say,
    It's the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me...
    That poem is SOOOO Beautiful!
    Kinda makes you want to laugh & cry at the same time huh?
    Maybe we should have her rewrite the words to our National Anthem?
    It's getting a little stale & overused.
    It needs a more "Street Smart" update & perspective.
    Not quite poetry per se but I always loved this one:
    You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.
