just like having a drivers license, you never need it, unless you're caught. If you carry without your ticket, then you assume the risk..

Question: Does your state require your home address appear on either your driving ID or CHL? If so, then be aware that in the wrong hands, two things are known: (a) where you live, and (b) that you own firearms worth stealing. A little extra caution and awareness might be worthwhile.
Uncertain if PA has legal penalties for not actually having your CHL on you. Though, combined with not having your state-issued photo ID on you, an LEO would almost certainly detain you if questioned and you could produce neither of them. In Oregon, it's a misdemeanor and possible risk of yanking the CHL.

IIRC in PA you have to have your LTCF on your person to carry concealed or carry in your vehicle. I just looked at the PSP website, but I can't find anything to that effect. But I'll keep looking.

No need to worry. I called the movie theater up at the mall and they said the cleaning crew found it on the floor last night. Everything is intact, CCL and all my cash. Thank god there are honest people in the world.
you got lucky. Last year I lost mine and they got everything including my social security card.
This is why I try so hard to include nothing in my wallet that has the "keys to the kingdom." They can get lost or stolen. It's bad enough that Oregon forces folks to have their home addresses on ID's, despite the fact that law enforcement can look that up in a flash. These days, birthdate, an address or phone ... that's about all you need, with some places.

Have always been puzzeled by folks who carry their social security cards on their person..mine is locked up in a safe.
Lost my wallet one time, and I know where it is..97 feet below the surface in the lake..no fears of info getting into wrong hands, just a hassel to have ID and such reissued which is much better than fearing ID theift.
In Colorado they will ticket you if you don't have it, but will throw it out if you bring proof to the court hearing. Not sure if they take the weapon in the meantime - that might be another big hassle.
Ya I don't keep my social security card in it. I keep all that stuff locked in the safe. I have my bank card (which needs a pin to use). I don't have the visa one. I either have cash or use debit. Then I have a credit card, my DL and CCL. Thats about it. Then misc. Bonus cards for grocery stores, movie rental cards etc... I was worried, but not horribly. I mean if it came down to it all I'd have to do is call up Citibank and cancel my card. Either way, i'm still glad I found it.
I had my social security card because I had to have it for work that day to get my new airport I'd.
Glad they found it....be careful! I know I'm clumsy/have a tendency to lose things, and drop things. So one habit I got into was check my pockets when getting up from car seat, movie theatre seat,..whatever,to make sure my wallet, phone, firearm, knives, cigg pack (gotta have that, lol.) lighter, and flashlight as still with me.
