I knew San Francisco was full of "it"

abc7news.com: 2.7 million gallon sewage spill in Richardson Bay along Marin shoreline 2/01/08

MARIN, CA -- A large sewage spill occurred Thursday night along the Marin shoreline.

The California State Office of Emergency Services reports that the 2.7 million gallon sewage spill happened sometime between 5:30 and 8:30 pm Thursday night in Richardson Bay. How the spill occurred is still being determined.
Sanitation officials said none of the spill contained chlorine used to treat sewage and the communities of Mill Valley, Sausalito, Tiburon and Belvedere were notified of the spill.

The extent of the spill's spread into the Bay is unknown but there have been no reports of wildlife affected by the spill, Pittman said.
The public is being advised not to come in contact with the water, Pittman said.
It looks like a bit of California legislation got into the water.

I really am sorry for making fun of a bad situation like this.

Seriously though, they need to regulate the heck out of that stuff. Raw Sewage is known to the State of California to cause cancer and gang-related crime.

I laughed out loud at that one!! haha Nice.

But yeah, I'm with you. We should regulate that sludge. Tax it. Impose capacity restrictions. People who create sewage are horrible and violent and we should make it as difficult for them as possible.

I won't make a joke about 'floating bolt' restrictions. Oh! Too late.

Sorry... I'll sotp there. Ahem, yes. Couldn't have happened to a nicer town.

    San Francisco untreated waste sewage.

this would be such a great time for an earthquake that put them under water.

    LOL!

While I feel bad about the potential damage to the wildlife in that area, I can't help but marvel at the irony. California is probably the most liberal, environmentally conscious, highly regulated, force their views on others type of state in the Union, with the San Francisco area probably being the worst in the state. South Park did a pretty funny show where it has San Franciscans so pleased with themselves they enjoy the smell of their own farts and that's probably not too far off the mark. To have them cause a major spill of this sort is almost comically ironic.

Sounds like someone just needs to pull the BIG handle and flush the whole state.

Yes!!! Oh man that was the first thing I thought of when I read this. The "Smug" from everyone driving hybrid cars and thinking so highly of themselves. It mixed with Alec Baldwins acceptance speech and caused a massive SuperSmug typhoon thing. haha

But really, its not almost comically ironic. It IS comically ironic.

Seriously though, how can it be known that exactly 2.7 million gallons were involved but the cause remains unknown? Curiouser and curiouser. Could it be that the offender is being protected? Hm.

How else did you think SanFran was spreading their filth around the globe? It's probably their new master plan for world domination.
