Applying for a job as a security officer

Hey everyone, just letting you know that I've quit my fast food job, and applying for a job as a security officer at a company called Guardsmark. I want to get away from food service and try a new thing. So wish me luck in getting accepted, and I really hope I get it. I wish to serve the community in some way, and help keep the peace.

Good luck. What type of security work is it?

I'm not quite sure yet, but I'll find out more tomorrow when I go to turn in my references (had to get eight of them). There's 5-7 day wait for the background check, but given that I've already passed the first application process and moving onto the 2nd application process, I have a slight feeling I may get accepted. They tell me they're hiring pretty aggressively (guess there's not enough security guards around here). So we'll see!

I went in this morning to fill out their 2nd application, and I go back on Monday for further processing and I believe training. So I suppose I got the job!

I imagine you did at that! Training? Free? Dude---you're in it now! I'm glad you're excited about it. There's nothing quite like a job you want to do. It makes every day worth living by +20% at least! One has no limits when seeking their goals. Nobody has the right to set the limits but you. Even if it's premature, I'll offer my congratulations. Give it your all and you'll do well. With your attitude, anything is yours. Be happy in what you do, it will never seem to be 'work', but you'll get paid for it----keep that to yourself!
