Just saw this one.
LOS ANGELES -- Police say a Tarzana man fatally shot himself at a shooting range.
Los Angeles police Detective Mike Fesperman said Richard Mackay, 65, rented a pistol Wednesday afternoon at the Firing-Line Indoor Shooting Ranges in Northridge. Mackay then rented a lane and was found by employees a minutes later with a gunshot wound to the head, Fesperman said.
Mackay had been a member of the range for a few weeks, Fesperman added.

Leave the mess for the range guys to clean up instead of the family...
Someone in KA will use this to prove how dangerous ranges are.

At least this nut job just took himself out instead of having to put on a show killing innocents. It was too bad though that the range guys had a mess to clean up.

Thats so sad, but I still have to ask. Did he know what was beyond his target?
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

He may have been doing a trick shot...thru the ears so the BG wound not see his weapon?
Guns don't kill people, indoor gun ranges kill people ... I have always heard that the lead poisoning in those type ranges were really bad for you.

I sure hope that no one here knew this person and more importantly that no one in his family reads these comments.

My question is a little off center. Did he turn around so the bullet would travel the correct way down the range? If he was standing on the line the bullet would be going uprange.

It didn't say where the entry point was, it was a rented gun, could have been an accident, but rather doubt it.

That's it, for now on we need background checks before you can rent a pistol at a firing range.
