I feel like a shoplifter!
I shot some time yesterday *gasp* shopping. I purchased some new fall and winter duds and replace my dress boots that wore out last winter....
I come home and discover the checkout lady left one of those giant plastic anti-theft devices on a sweater.
I'm not sure if this is just the kind that makes the alarm go off when you exit, or it shoots dye all over the item when you try to remove it yourself. The tag didn't go off when I exited the store, so the lady had deactivated it but just forgot to take it off.
Now, this isn't the first time this has happened. They get busy and forget to take those tags off, and I've seen some items have more than one tag on them! Last time I returned to the store and showed them the item plus the receipt, but I still got sideways glances from them as they removed the tag for me.
So I'm pondering what to do and decide I'm too lazy to go back to the store and have them remove the thing. I decide to do the surgery on my own.
I whip out my Leatherman and hover over the bathroom sink, hoping this isn't the kind of tag that shoots out all the dye. I can't get the wire cutters around the steel shaft that goes through the tag, item and to the round disc on the other side. So I use the pliers and tear at the disc piece by piece until I can slip the wirecutters around the shaft...
DOES THE TAG SNAP OFF?
DOES BETTY GET DYE IN HER EYE?
DOES AN ALARM GO OFF AND MEN IN BLACK RAPPEL DOWN FROM THE SKY?
Snap.
The two pieces come off, and ta-dah, I've got myself a sweater.
That was my mild adventure for the day.

Kinda looks like it really COULD be Betty.
Na QK, you'd have to put her in the local range :) Throwing a couple of mags / boxes of ammo for her USPc .45 in the bag :)
P.S. Betty, please don't beat me over the head w/ a chair, i'm just kidding around :) :chairshot

I wonder if she just wore her new boots out the door...when she left that store?
They usually don't even put anti~theft tags on shoes & boots. :poke:

Next time just take your recept and the item back to the store, they have a special tool to remove it. BTY it's very likely a dye pack happens all the time, TSC uses them and the employee's are always forgetting toremove them.
