    No CCW license required

Almost every day our county paper has at least one shooting reported. Usually someone is shot in the head and LE doesn't know if its gang related or not.
The age of the person shot seems to be from late teens to under 30 years of age, most of the time the shooting takes place at night or early morning. Our city is pretty calm but we to have those shootings take place. I never see where a licensed ccw person has defended themselves, its always a drive by shooting it seems. The press don't continue reporting about the murder, its like it never happened.
When we read of gun deaths reported by the media or the anti-gun people it seems reporting groups the legal gun owner who never pulled the trigger in anger with these unrelated killings. Just my thoughts for the day.

I recall hearing about similar incidents where it was a gang initiation rite - members had to kill somebody to get in, and the usual way was to walk up behind or drive by an unsuspecting person and shoot him/her in the head.

That's scary stuff, even with good situational awareness there's still practically zero reaction time when somebody does something like that.
