Armed Student Reported at Ky. University
    Published: 3/27/08, 10:07 AM EDT

"LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A student who walked into a health services building with a weapon at the University of Louisville has been disarmed.

"The conflict began around 9 a.m. Thursday. University Spokeswoman Cindy Hess says police are at the building, but had no other information.

"A message posted on the university's Web site says that the situation is under control, and no one is injured."

Not good, but no one was harmed. I suppose we'll hear more details as the story unfolds. The story mentions "conflict," which suggests a criminal use, but that is not truly clear. Kentucky members, am I correct in presuming that carry is illegal on college campuses in your state?

Your link notes it was a woman who walked into the building and the police said they rcv'd a call and arrived to a hostage situation.

Interesting that the university "motto" is 'University of Louisville; It's Happening Here'

Yeah, "it" is and y'all better wake up cause "it's" happening everywhere.
The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.'

Thanks! The link has updated since I first posted it. More information is coming out, and it definitely sounds criminal now.

    Not getting better:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Two children were found shot to death Thursday in a home in Okolona. Police are investigating possible connections between the slayings and an incident Thursday morning in which a woman with a gun was stopped on the University of Louisville campus.

Around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, officials from the University of Louisville issued a safety alert when a woman held a counselor at gunpoint in the health services building.

Around 9:20, Metro Police said they got a call from campus police to check the welfare of some children in the 4700 block of Settle Blvd.

When officers arrived they found two children shot to death inside.

Universities can declare their areas "gun-free" zones but there is no legal and punitive punishments for violating it. If the guy is a student they can expel him though.

The kids were 11 and 13. She needs to die, if she did it.
