    They make it sound so hard... well I guess really it is because of all the preparation you have to do. All the hunters I ever knew just put up a stand and then as many corn feeding stations as they could afford around it within about a 300 yard radius or however far they thought they could make the shot.

    It takes up all your weekends to go set those things up and keep them full of corn, and all that for a couple of deer who are going to cost you a lot of money to have processed unless you do that yourself, which takes time.

    I remember my coworker Gene told me once he figured that "free deer meat" was costing him about $14 a pound.

    so folks seem to overdo it a bit. I usually scout year round while out hiking, bird hunting or camping. No feeders or such for me. Hunting can get expensive quick though. Still I find piece of mind and solitude while out in the woods. Still cheaper than a shrink.

    I hunt same place every year Same Blind etc etc Cant bait since our deer supposedly have TB But peace in the woods away from work away from the woman Damn thats a Good Time

    If you hunt to save money - you're better off spending your time elsewhere. That said - it's the only reasonable way to obtain 'natural' meat unless you raise your own range-fed animals.

    BTW - the strategy you describe above I wouldn't consider hunting. But I guess if it's fun for them... great.
