What should I name my new Bassett Hound puppy?

Just brought him home last night. I'm runnin' on NO sleep!
I've never had (much less named) a pet before and my girlfriend thinks I should have the honor.

    Any suggestions? Let me know!

Yes, "puppy" is gorgeous! I love him! I just hope I can find a name that fits him.

    Bassetts are great dogs!

I've been trying to get my daughter to name one of her stuffed animals "Karl".....(don't ask why)....but she refuses. So my vote is Karl!

    D'oh! Tom T. Hall! That's right. I shoulda known.
How about "Fred" from Smokey And The Bandit? Or maybe even "Bandit". Although that kinda reminds me of the little pug from "Johnny Quest". (Talk about dating myself!)

Many names have been mentioned, but that pooch should be named Mahoney...Mo' for short. That or something really ridiculously tough...like Thunder.

Glad to see my forum friends are dog folk, too!
