Anybody shoot Rossis?
Got a call from a friend last night that knows I am into guns with an offer to sell one he has.
Rossi .357 with 6" barrel. Stainless, Pachamyr (sp?) grips. I would characterize it as 95%. Has one small scratch on the left side of the frame. Friend does not know how it got there.
Have not had a chance to shoot it, so I have cannot speak for that. Friend wants $200.00 for it.
Is Rossi a reliable piece, or just another cheap, mass produced POJ that I should stay away from?
TIA for all answers with the exception of P95, who I know is gonna tell me to just sell it to him to relieve myself of the headache of owning it

Hahaha - now would I do that ?? LOL
I am ambivalent over Rossi stuff because in truth I have zero experience of them. I guess I put them in approx a ''Taurus league'' - being maybe uncertain as to aspects of QC and metallurgical quality.
That sorta price does not seem too bad but not so sure that they hold very high values overall and so maybe a bit less would be good.
In appearance they look nice - having eyeballed one at gun shop - and also I guess if it was to be a gun for relatively modest thruput of ammo I'd consider it.
I would most of all be keen to assess lock-up and timing - inspect star ratchets, hand tip - bolt slots on cyl etc .... a thoro functional review.
So - I am thinking aloud - not what you could call advice at all and I don't want to seem to be too negative either as I am not that well up on them

Anyone know of a site to assess the value of firearms? Kinda like a Kelly Blue Book for my guns?
