Talking I just donít know what to do with that mean old wife of mine!

Yesterday she dragged me out to Wal-Mart (hey she is a Wal-Mart fan, what can I do?) and forced me back to the sporting goods counter (it really took a lot of forcing). While at the sporting goods counter she bought me a Ruger Mini 14, a 4X30mm Nikon Pro Staff scope and a starter supply of five boxes of ammo. When we got home she had me go online and order 2 John Mason Co. 30 round magazines for it.

You would at least think she should have sprung for a sling to go with it, but no! I have to get that on my own! Is her not getting the sling just cause for a divorce?

I would probably just give her a warning this time.

Wait, after rethinking my answer, I would probably keep my mouth shut and hope next time she gets it right on her own. If not, just go pick up a sling.

This was the first one I had ever seen there. Also they only had one and I got it! It was a three ring circus buying it; I had two sales clerks and an Assistant Manager working on trying to figure out how to do the transaction with a CCW permit.

Also they did not want to sell us the ammo at the same time, what they wanted was for me to let the Assistant Manager carry it outside and then I could lock the Mini 14 in my truck, go back in and buy the ammo. I asked the senior casher ďhow much sense does that make, you have my CCW in your hand so what makes you think that if I wanted to cause trouble that I donít already have a loaded gun?Ē She thought about that for a second laughed, and sold me the ammo at the same time as the gun.

The hard part is I have to wait until tomorrow to go out and sight it in and see how much fun it is to shoot.

I guess that I have to forgive her, she went out today and came back with the sling!

I'm absolutely sure you won't like it, you should just save yourself the disappointment and send it to me, I'll take one for the team and suffer through shooting it.

P.S., don't forget to update your list now.

Those mini's are fun to shoot. Not tack drivers, but in my experience, very reliable.

If your wife loved you, she would have got you a suppressor or a 14 inch Remington 870.

    Buying you a Mini-14...

Eh, well...She better make you a steak tonight...
