    Now they're foodjacking people

A hankering for hamburgers late Wednesday night has landed two Pontiac teens in the custody of police.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started in the drive-through of a White Castle in Pontiac, led to assault and armed robbery and then ended with a car crash in Auburn Hills.

This is what police said happened:

The teens — ages 16 and 17 — stole a 1997 Dodge Intrepid in Pontiac and went to the White Castle at Featherstone and Martin Luther King Boulevard, placing an order Wednesday night, just before midnight. They grew impatient while waiting for their food, so instead of paying for their order, the teens followed the car ahead of them in line to steal their hamburgers.

The teens followed the vehicle all the way to a driveway on Arizona Street in Rochester Hills. The 17-year-old walked up to the driver’s side, hit the 21-year-old driver in the head with a hammer, pulled him from the car and forced him to the ground. The 16-year-old pulled the passenger out of the car. The men, both 21 and from Rochester Hills, were ordered to empty their pockets.

Neither man was seriously injured, but the teens did steal their wallets and the bag of food.

At about 1:30 a.m. today, a sheriff’s deputy on patrol in Rochester Hills saw a 1997 Dodge Intrepid driving fast and recklessly as it turned onto westbound Walton from Arizona Street. The two teens were in the car.

The deputy followed the car, activating his lights and siren, but the Intrepid started going more than 100 m.p.h. The teens drove all the way to Auburn Hills, where the Intrepid spun out and crashed in a construction zone.

The two teens ran away, but were found in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The 17-year-old, who has a juvenile record for home invasion, was in a trash dumpster. The 16-year-old, who had a juvenile record for assaulting a police officer, was hiding under a car.

Both teens are in Oakland County Sheriff's Department custody and are expected to be arraigned Friday.

The hammer was recovered from the Intrepid by police.

So were 16 hamburgers and one chicken sandwich.

Teens huh? Real nice. It's hard to say if they should be arrested, or continue on their path until they meet up with someone on the street who doesn't feel they deserve to see that legal age of 21. A hammer is a weapon in my book. Someone does need to tell them they are lucky to be alive. It's likely these two won't be up for learning any lessons until it's too late though. What next?

Nice, in their late teens and already records for home invasion and assaulting police officer. These clowns are already hard core criminals and obviously care about nobody and nothing. Too bad their victims were not armed and ready for them.

Aggravated assault that just happened to have intimidation/kicks/food as the goal, instead of just intimidation/kicks. I hope those two social defects enjoy the slammer. I hope they're "cute" ... in a "big house" sort of way.

You would think they would have better things to ruin their lives over other than "slidey whities".
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.
