So a couple of friends and I were walking around downtown yesterday after trimming some trees and we were headed to get some ice cream. At the bottom of Broadway, right on the river, were two empty police cars. I didn't take too much notice of it at the time.
So we arrived at the ice cream parlor, which is about 3 blocks away from where we saw the cars, and two police men walked out as we entered. After we left the parlor we climbed to the top of the levy to look at the park that flooding on the riverside. (This is the highest I remember the Mississippi since 93, though I may be forgetting some..) Anyways, we finished the ice cream and were heading back to our vehicle when we see the same two policemen running back to their vehicles through an alley! It seemed pretty amusing, I'd never seen something like that.
When we returned to my friend's house he turned on the scanner, and we believe a young girl was hit by a car on her bicycle, and they were trying to get permission to transport her to the hospital. Anyways, I guess it was good for the police to run off all those calories from the icecream!
