West Palm Beach: Police: 2 shootings were an hour apart
Two shootings about an hour apart Monday night in West Palm Beach appeared to be tit-for-tat and left two young men wounded, police said.
In the first shooting, around 9:10 p.m., a 20-year-old was shot once in the lower back and once in the leg, Lt. Sarah Mooney said. The shooting took place on the 800 block of 19th Street near Division and Tamarind avenues.
The victim might have known his shooter, Mooney said. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition and was to undergo surgery.
Shortly after 10 p.m., a second gunshot victim walked into the hospital after what was possibly a retaliation shooting, Mooney said. Police were still investigating, and no further details were available.
