    Gas theft.

Well the title says it all. I filled my tank a few days ago and now its empty. I set my trip so I know I didn't just forget. Somebody syphoned off about half a tank. I think I found out how criminals are going to pay for their gas.

Nothing new. We used to lose fuel when it was 75 cents. I finally broke the $100 mark filling up both tanks on my F-150 today. Maybe I need a siphon hose!

What do you drive? Most cars have an anti-siphon screen, my diesel truck doesn't.

Get a lockable gas cap if they have one for your model car.

My in-laws wonderful neighbor (we sure, but not 'absolutly certin') started helping himself to mom-in-law's petrol awhile back. We got a lockable gascap but discovered it busted a few days later.......he (or someone) REALLY needed her gasoline. It stopped after the home security camera's went up and operational. Funny how that works?

It's probably a good thing there are not as many diesels on the road. I have a diesel truck to and I would hate to give an attitude adjustment over some fuel. Most people here drive a diesel truck here because they need it for work purposes.

I added the locking gas caps last week. My parent's neighbor got hit and I decided to at least slow them down...

Our county vehicles, that are left out overnight, have had the gas lines cut underneath to get the fuel. The locking caps were still in place.

My neighbor told me last summer about a friend of his that had a locking cap. They could not get the gas, so they took a screwdriver and poked a hole in his tank and let the gas just run out onto the ground. Hopefully if they try mine, they don't go that far. If they do, I just hope I catch them in the act.

Someone did steal a five gallon gas can from under the steps of my deck. I wasn't really bothered by that because it had about five gallons of used motor oil in it. I had not had time to take it to the disposal yet. I hope, since it was so dark that night, that they poured it in their gas tank.

At night, eh? Well, I hope he didn't use a match to help him see.

I wonder if they make a Glazer safety slug anti theft gas cap? :)
