All time favorite movie line is from the Blues Brothers: "We got both kinds of music - Country and Western"
    +1 all great films.

My favorite? Blazing saddles. I know not very PC but very funny.

Private Ryan and Blackhawk Down make my list as well.

    Both of these are excellent.

I'm not really much of a Western fan, but The Shootist isn't bad.

And Doctor Zhivago is a classic, done by a master (David Lean). Stellar acting by Omar Sharif. Interesting in how some films can create such a poignant character of the landscape, the sweep of time, and so on. Zhivago has that and more.

I was asked this question about a week ago and had a hard time coming up with just one. I finally said:

    Rio Bravo

If you think The Day the Earth Stood Still is good you should read the original short story. Here is a link to the full text of Farewell to the Master by Harry Bates

I guess it qualifies as a "movie" but my all time favorite is the HBO series "Band of Brothers".

    Actual movie favorites are:

    The Great Raid
    Saving Private Ryan
    Space Cowboys
    The Right Stuff
    Apollo 13

One of my all time favorites is "Dr Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” great spoof of the movie “Failsafe” another great movie. “Airplane” is another favorite also, having watched it several times it seems I find something new in the background each time.

    LOL Thanks Dnowell

I know what everyone will say but I love Red Dawn.
    Saving Private Ryan
    Casablanca
    Sahara

Some people I know couldn't stand Sahara for various reasons. I thought it was just awesome due to Steve Zahn. Weapons handling in that movie is pretty good, too!!

Casa Blanca-Has the best dialogue in any movie I've ever seen. The humor is incredibly understated, but if you're paying attention it is absolutely hilarous

The original 3:10 to Yuma. If it had come out before High Noon, noone would talk about High Noon.
