    Most dangerous job

Was watching deadliest catch the other day. For those of you who don't know the show it's about king crab fisherman. It is supposed to be one of the deadliest jobs. It got me thinking this could be fun. Lets make a list of dangerous jobs that were not of the norm(like LEO).......

I will start with these two:

    Pizza delivery driver
    Convenience store clerk

Actually, statistically speaking LEO is not that dangerous of a job. (there is certainly an element of danger) Construction, manufacturing and transportation sectors all rank higher on the list.

So, I'll add iron worker to the list.

I have to agree with SIXTO, construction work has got to be one of the most dangerous jobs out there.

    Burglar in Texas!
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

National Park Ranger. I don't have the figures handy, but I think they were about 8 times as likely to get killed in the line of duty as other law enforcement.

True. Recently (just a couple of weeks ago) there was an article published with the latest list of dangerous jobs and LEO wasn't even in the top 10. I couldn't believe it when I found that out. I thougt LEO would be prominent on that list.

A couple of the ones I remember from the list (in addition to the ones listed above) are logger and farm worker.

Ever been on a carrier flight deck when air operations were taking place?

I'd say that was pretty dangerous for all involved
    you could get...

blown off the deck by a jet engine
    sucked into an intake
get your legs tore off by a broke arresting wire
and a mulitide of other things that take place on a daily basis...

I'm really suprised that pilots are up that high; but I guess most are employed by small carriers, "bush pilot" type operations or military. Funny thing is, I always wanted to move to Alaska or even northern Canda to be a bush pilot... what a cool job that would be.
