We stopped for a pee break and took this pick while providing convoy security, riding with contract drivers in the '91 Gulf War. (I'm the guy on the right, the one on the left is a MGSGT I worked with.

As you can see by the sign we were headed north toward Khafji when we took this pic. This photo was taken just a few days before the Battle of Khafji.

I was not there when the battle took place, our runs were strictly up and back, but I can still feel the sick feeling in my stomach when I learned that some of our bretheren had been killed there. IIRC, it was the first combat of the war.

This is the only pic I have on computer. I have some nice desert ops pics of AAV's, but I'll have to dig them out and scan them.

    Cool pics, Kerb!
Remember it... I took my wife to see it at the drive in theater which is now a housing project.

sgtD, that's not much of a road you guys had there.

What's at the top left of that picture?

And DrLewall, you look a lot different w/out the kilt.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

This is right in our backyard - Mt. St. Helens - the picture has a special meaning to us, as my wife had our daughter just a few days later.

That road was like the autoban, compared to traversing breach lanes through mine fields.

As for the blemish in the pic, it's just that. The original is a polaroid, and it must have gotten damaged over the years. I noticed it was fading a little too, that's why I scanned it to my computer last week when I came across it in a box of pics I was going through.
