78-Year-Old Fends Off Restroom Robbers Attackers Followed Man Into Bathroom At Wal-Mart
Reported By Cynthia Williams
DOVER, Tenn. -- Two men are charged with robbery after attacking a man in the bathroom of a Clarksville Wal-Mart.
According to police, 78-year-old James Pulley was using the bathroom when two men came in, turned off the lights and tried to robbed him.
"We’d been to Applebee’s and the mall and when we came back, we were going to stop by Wal-Mart and get a little something to bring home, and I had to go to the bathroom," he said.
Pulley was at the Wal-Mart with his wife of more than 50 years, Lydia, and some of their adult children.
During the attack, Pulley was able to fight back.
"I took the elbow and I got him in the throat," he said.
Lydia Pulley said she watched as the two men followed him in.
"It’s scary," she said.
"I went in, and my oldest daughter was standing there, and about that time, the light went out," James Pulley said.
During the attack, Pulley’s daughter, who was standing near the bathroom’s entrance, saw the lights go out, so she reached in and turned them back on.
As the robbers searched James Pulley for his wallet, Pulley said he was able to hit him.
"I socked him two times good. He wasn’t interested in the wallet no more," he said.
James Pulley said he was carrying more than $1,000 in cash in his wallet because of a trip he planned with his wife.
"I learned one thing: Don’t keep any money in your wallet, keep it on your front pocket," he said.
The two attackers were arrested and are being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
"If I was an extremist, our founding fathers would all be extremists," he said. "Without them, we wouldn't have our independence. We'd be a disarmed British system of feudal subjectivity."

"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

I would hope that he learned a 2d lesson as well......
........ IMHO it's highly unlikely that these thugs just got lucky in targeting someone that happened to have $1,000 on him. They likely followed him from the point that he obtained the cash, whether bank or ATM, and simply waited for the right opportunity to attack him.

Agreed
Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME.

About 8 yrs ago I had a good friend get horribly beaten up in a Wally World Bathroom. They almost killed him. Broke both legs, cracked his pelvis, and broke his collerbone. It's sad that a RR isn't safe anymore.
God Bless America!!
