Vacation or Staycation?
I was wondering how many of you will take a vacation, or how many of you will stay home and do activities around the area, due to the high price of gasoline?
God bless our troops!

Have to go to Vermont for school (flying up, driving back with family)...then driving to SC to visit my grandmother before I deploy for the next 14-15 months.
By the time I get back, I expect gas to be cheaper--otherwise, I'm going back!!

I'm taking a bunch of shorter vacations on the motorcycle.

Good choice, pretty soon we may all be on motorcycles.
God bless our troops!

We will surly do short closer in trips, unless we fly and rent a Jeep. By the way thanks SigGuy for your service to our country.

Neither, or a little bit of both. We plan on a three day camping trip into neighboring Oklahoma this summer with friends. Couple hundred in gas, maybe a hundred for eats, fifty or so for ice, $30 or $40 for permits, $15 worth of Deep Woods Off, etc.......... I hope I can catch some fish after the baloney and bread run out, otherwise I'll be foraging for wild plants and everyone else will starve. I know I won't be getting much sleep for guarding all my empty aluminum cans at night. Yep---three days, and I won't even have to take time off work to do it. Any longer than three days 'out', and the ol' lady would be unrecognizable and swollen with bug bites, the kid will have run me out of minutes on the cell phone and rollovers too, and I'd have nothing to listen to but cryin' about how hot it is and that their sunburns are starting to hurt.

We are going to Kenya, Africa in August. This trip has been planned for over four years and we have already spent thousands on it so it is not something we can decide not to do.

Well I just got back from a vacation. Drove to Raton New Mexico to meet up with a few others on The High Road and to play at the NRA Whittington center.
What a blast that was. It's my second time there and it's fun to have good company, lots to eat, and plenty of ammo. LOL.

We vacation on a regular basis...short rides on the Harley, which includes 2-4 hr treks with lunch somewhere along the way...

I have yet to experience a holiday in which fuel comprised a major reason for doing or not doing it. I don't see that changing anytime soon, for me. But then, my "vacation" plans have always been reasonably DIY and modest.
