I followed that link Bryan - and <cough> - hmmm - well - I'd say he was/is treading on dangerously thin ice. I would lay odds that he is being closely watched and could well face some ''problems'' shall we say!!!
Actually, the SCOTUS ruled within the past few years that the NFA laws don't apply to a self-manufactured firearm because no interstate commerce was involved. The case involved a man in Washington state, IIRC, that made his own machine gun.
