I might have been willing to donate my economic stimulus check back to the government as part of a donations program if it only had one goal: To send in a team of Force Recon Marines to eliminate the [Censor]'s who run those Nigerian scams. I'm getting sick of seeing them in my mailbox. Had one try to buy my car off me.

I've won countless billions over the years from all sorts of overseas fishing expeditions. I win at least $10,000 daily, and have so many pending laptop shipments I don't know what to do with all of it.

    I love scambaiting.

The idea is, when you get one of these Nigeria scam emails, you write them back with a very convincing letter along these lines:

    Dear Sir,
I am very excited for the opportunity to assist you in transferring your funds to my American bank account. The terms and conditions you have described sound perfectly reasonable.
I will need a $25 (twenty-five dollar) Customs Insurance Deposit so that your package will be allowed through USA customs. Upon receiving the Customs Deposit, I will send you the $105GBP you've requested for shipping.

Looking forward to working with you.

    Sincerely,
    xxxxxxx

I've actually gotten scammers to send me $25 via paypal this way before. Try it.

    Peace,
    Pete Zaria.

This might cause "The Authorities" to think you're part of the scam!

I've considered this. If for any reason it was ever brought to the attention of authorities, I would gladly turn over my email records of the exchange along with an explanation, sincere apology and offer to return the scammer's $25. I seriously doubt it would be prosecuted.

I feel zero guilt for attempting to give these guys a taste of their own medicine; if they're stupid enough to fall for their OWN tactics, maybe loosing $25 will make them re-think their career choice.

And I've only ever actually gotten a scammer to paypal me anything twice.

    Peace,
    Pete Zaria.
