Question This Raises Some Issues for Virginia Tech

Some Va. Tech offices got 1st warning on gunman

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Last year's lockdown of some Virginia Tech offices before all students and faculty were alerted about a rampaging gunman did not surprise the chairman of a state panel that investigated the mass shootings, he said Wednesday.

E-mails warning some university employees about Seung-Hui Cho's fatal shootings of two students in a dormitory were revealed Tuesday following a court hearing to approve compensation for families of slain and injured victims.

After leaving the dorm April 16, 2007, Cho went on to kill 30 more students and faculty in a classroom building more than two hours later.

If I'm reading this correctly, the school's "Department of Environmental Health and Security" was locked down fifteen minutes before Cho's killing spree. For those that know, is that Campus Security?

    Let me see here:

    $11 million
------------ = 22,000 students could have been armed with Glocks
    $500/Glock

In the local papers in VA the state residents thought it was unfair that the state could be sued and their tax money would have to pay the suit. I responded that if the state denied the students and faculty the right to defend themselves then the state should have to pay and they should contact their represenatives and change the law. I think it POed alot of the readers.
