Vacation pics: 2 of ?: Shiloh Sharps Rifle Co. / Mt Rushmore

So I started sharing some vacation pics in this thread: http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...pic-heavy.html, and I've finally gotten around to uploading some of the others.

We stopped off in Big Timber, MT for gas and had to go and browse at the Shiloh Sharps Rifle Co., maker of the rifles used by Tom Selleck in "Quigley Down Under" and other movies.

On a side note, if you're ever in Big Timber, MT. there's a gas station where you can get gas, AND guns at the same time, you've got to stop in at The Fort, 228 Big Timber Loop. Nice people working there and they had a great selection.

Any way, here's some pics from Shiloh.

It's hard to believe that they get those from this:

Here's some completed rifles awaiting shipment to their lucky owners.

And here's me, my father-inlaw (right) and his brother(left).

And no, Lima did not buy me one for a present.

    Did she buy Lump one?

It'd be a great 30th birthday present, of course you would have to use it and keep it servicable until he/she is 30.

And here's some pics from Mt. Rushmore.

I never really "got" what was so big about it, until I actually got to see it. If you're ever out west, you've got to see it.

Man those are some beautiful rifles. I want to get one so bad. I work with a guy that shoots competitions with a Sharps 45-110. It is also the only firearm that he hunts with. Great pics, thanks for posting.

Thanks, I'm really starting to like this camera.

The price on them is well worth it IMHO for a full custom made to your spec. rifle. I don't recall how long the wait is for one, but IIRC it's over one year.

The guy I work with dropped his and broke the stock. It took him about 4 months to get it replaced and cost him over $1000. Pretty steep, but his is mainly for comp shooting.

If the camera angle was a little lower, we might be able to tell if you're printing, JD!

    Great pics!

I'm wondering if the 6 or 8 Shilo rifles that were stolen at this year's SHOT show were ever found?

No chance, I was carrying the P7 most of that trip.

When I was there, they still had no word on the theft.

All I can say is I'm glad they are all in a case, to protect them from the drool that would fall on them if I ever make it out there.

I love the look of the wood on those pieces of art.

Be careful, cameras are almost as addictive as guns. (At least for me anyway)
