Questions for our Arizona members
As I've mentioned in the past, my wife and I hope to move to north/central Arizona sometime in the next several years. I've been looking around, and we want a climate pretty much identical to that of the Prescott/Prescott valley area... without the $300,000 per acre lot price. I've done some digging, and have found parcels between Winslow and Flagstaff, west of Flagstaff near Ash Fork, and several others in Yavapai, Coconino, and Navajo counties. Can anyone comment on the difficulty/price of drilling for groundwater, having utilities run, and general feel for any of these areas? Ideally, I'm looking for 12-40 acres at a maximum of $2500 per acre... enough space to do what I want, and cheap enough to build the house I want within our budget.
Of course, the budget itself has yet to be determined - this is why I'm looking into the costs of making a particular parcel of land livable.
Thanks in advance!
