    No.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

I really like our US Marines, but, Marines arent the only ones who fought and died in battle.

If I had my say, I would have asked for a forum to honor the fallen soldiers of ALL branches of the Service.

Well since DC.com isn't a democracy there is only one vote that counts. He'll probably chime in at some point.

Even as a Devil Dog, I don't see the need for it. There is already the LE/Military section, plenty of other members from the other services around here as well.

Don't really see the need for it - it is already hard enoughf to moderate this forum as it is. I think with the word Marine somewhere on the thread's name will be enoughf for us (Marines) to look at it. But the head honcho has the last word anyways.

    I closed the poll.

It's really not a viable issue for a member vote.

The ultimate decision would be a 100% total Bumper Call and he really never bases his forum decisions on which way the wind is blowing today and so polling the members would be somewhat of a futile exercise.

You may (of course) still comment in this thread but, just not vote.

Actually, the Law Enforcement, Military & Homeland Security Discussion forum was originally meant to be much different than it turned out to be. It was meant to be more of a fraternal area, rather than a place for people to relate "run ins" with the police and news items. Homeland Security was added much later when we pretty much gave up on being able to preserve its original purpose.

I may, someday, make another attempt to restore it to that original purpose, but I would probably not add another forum to focus on one service, implying that the other services are less. I honor all of those that serve, regardless of the branch. I include law enforcement in this because, while different, their service is also important in keeping us all free.
