There have been lots of posts in the past about what your going to spend your stimulus check. And since then what you have stimulated the economy on.
Well unfortunately i have yet to receive a check from the government so i might go out and put it into the economy.
I do our taxes each year on turbo tax. This was the first year we have not had to pay in since my wife and I got married.
Our total household income this year fell around 50k so i don't think we were too wealthy to not get a check.
I filed under her social # which ends in a "14" as mine ends in a "29"
Upon calling the IRS many times i have not been able to receive any info on to why i have not been able to get my check. Only bit of info i get was it was going to be sent out early June. The automated IRS line tells me to give my local office a call and gives me a phone # to call which then tells me due to many calls from stimulus related calls they are not taking voice calls.......
What in the wide world? My IRS refund check was delivered to my mail this year.
Anyways i am wondering if anyone is going through the same thing. And as frustrating as it is how you coping? Also if anyone has somehow defeated the mighty automated phone services and found out where the heck there check is?
Thanks all

Just a tip, TurboTax (or any software) is not the way to do your taxes. With us it gave us a 168.00 refund for 2006. Our CPA got us $5024.00.
Paid him 311.00 and spent the rest on toys.
My advice to anyone anywhere is to always go with a CPA if you can find one. Most are just regular people like you and me, they just like numbers more than reloaders and magazines. :)

I got mine a while back, it was spent before I got it. I think I paid off a credit card with it.

For those who may not have seen this yet, I got this in my e-mail. Mods, if it's inappropriate please feel free to delete it.
[QUOTEThe federal government is sending each and everyone of us
a $600 rebate.
If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to
China .
If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If we purchase a computer it will go to India.
If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico ,
Honduras , and Guatemala
If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan .
If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan ..
and none of it will help the American economy.
The only way to keep that money here at home is to buy
prostitutes, weed, beer, cigarettes, whiskey, and tattoos,
since these are the only products still produced in the
USA
thank you for your help & please support the US ][/QUOTE]
Direct deposit was definately faster. We got ours, but the kids (grown) are still waiting.

i have heard all sorts of mix up with this. people not getting theirs, other people getting two. bah. what a stupid idea anyways. how about the goverment stops taking all our money, spending/wasting more than they take, then trying to make us feel better by giving us a little back, when they cant even do that right

Besides collecting guns I also collect coins, my check went to a local dealer to upgrade some coins in my collection.
