My Daughter Quit Her Job

...sort of.

The conversation went something like this

Megan: By the way dad, I am going to quit my job.

Me: Oh? Really? You mean your dream job? The one you wanted of all the places you applied?

Megan: Ya. I can't take it any more.

Me: What do you mean?

Megan: The people there are just so immature. And the high school drama is just too much for me.

Me: Well, why don't you wait until you find a new one before you quit?

Megan: I can't take it any more.

So off she goes with her friend from work to pick up her paycheck and quit. She comes back 4 hours later.

Megan: I didn't quit my job.

Me: No?

Megan: Ya. I went shopping instead. You know when I am depressed, I shop.

Me: Boy, I feel sorry for your husband. So what did you buy?

Megan: (She rattles off about $100 worth of clothes. I have no idea what she was saying. It might as well have been Spanish, I have never learned.)

Me: Wow nice stuff. How are you going to buy more?

Megan: That is why I didn't quit.

I don't know. Maybe, just maybe, it is sinking in.

I can't tell you how many people I have known who just quit and don't even think about the future consequences of not having a J-O-B.

Cant stand people that quit then realize they had no money saved up and they dont have another job lined up.. so they end up taking a job they make less at and it still sucks, imagine that..

I do have a Homeland Security federal agent exam on the 24th though. I need to start studying for that.
