Thumbs down What has happened to Wrangler ??

Am I alone with this problem? I live in Wrangler Jeans. For the past couple of years, I've noticed that the Wranglers you buy now are of very poor quality, look like they were dipped in dark blue paint, and worst of all, I cannot get my 1 1/4 inch gun belt through the belt loops. All my belts are the same size, so if I elect to carry, I am now forced to buy/wear Levies, which are very hard to fit. Am I buying seconds ? They come from JC Penny's. Where do you get the old style with the rivets, red tag, and pocket design ??

I bet they are made in China or some other Southeast Asia country.
    Lower quality cheaper price.

Hmmm - and IIRC Levi Strauss is anti-gun too.

I do find it hard to get cheaper jeans with big enough belt loops - tho usually have managed to feed my daily 1 1/4" belt thru OK - but my better 1 1/2" only really works thru my Cabellas pants loops.

I have some Wranglers but not bought any in a while - and would not be surpised at all to find outsourcing on all these supposed US names - going ever further afield.

You might try a country/western store for 'authentic' pro rodeos.

I used to wear Levi's exclusively.Any more what ever fits and looks ok is fine by me. no problems fitting the pistol belts in any of em yet. I really like the 5.11 pants. Comfortable and plenty of pockets.

Thats why I get Carhart jeans. A bit pricy, but like there jackets they last a long time.

Take a look at the Faided Glory brand. I get mine at Sam's Club. Big belt loops, fit right, comfortable first time you put them on,and they are hard to wear out.(not quite like the old Levi's but darn near) Best of all -- $14 a pair. Only bad thing is---they seem to be makeing the waist smaller and smaller---oh, wait, well maybe ??? Forget it. ----------

Hmm. My Wranglers are made in Costa Rica, and I can still get my 1.5 inch belt through the loops just fine.

I get my Wrangler pro-rodeo jeans at a feed store, too. Orscheln's -- if anybody happens to live in the midwest. Same quality as the last 10 or 15 years. I use a 1 3/4" double thick belt, fits in the loops.

It is very, very possible that retailers like Penneys are contracting with Wrangler for special run jeans that are lower quality, so they pay a lower price. Wal-Mart does this with many items because the company has such huge purchasing power. I am not saying this is necessarily good or bad, just that it happens.

Ohhh.... yeah good point . I love the pocket alongside the right thigh. Its perfect for a Blackjack (flat sap), or a extra mag.
