Brandishing a knife,by a judge in a court room,I can't believe this is a country Robin Hood came from

It really is absurd. All he did was pull out his pocket knife and demonstrate that it takes two hands to open. Presumably the defense was arguing that the boy accidentally or reactively/reflexively opened his knife rather than intending to open it. It's just a defense attorney working hard for a mistrial.

After reading this post, I pulled out my grandfather's old KaBar pocket knife and attempted to open it one handed. I had no problem with the larger of the two blades in opening it one-handed, but I did need 2 hands for the smaller blade. And a judge brandishing simply by demonstrating something? I do think that the judge shouldn't have demonstrated anything though even in a juvenile court where no jury is present.( if the UK'S system is like ours)Judges are supposed to be impartial. His demonstration could easily lead to a mistrial. Especially since it seems he is not believing the defendant. Defense could argue judicial bias. OMO.
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

Think i'm going to be sick.....I can't stand the level of weakness
What did the knife do to anyone?
He should lose his job. One teenager a week is being murdered on the streets of Britain and here he is brandishing a knife,” Lyn Costello, co-founder of the Mothers Against Murder and Aggression campaign group, said.
“Enough is enough – we need to get tough on knives in this country and our judges should be handing out tough sentences, not brandishing their own.”

Before the American Civil War, one South Carolina legislator, predicting erroneously that secession and war would never happen, said, "South Carolina is too small for a republic, and too large for a lunatic asylum."
Evidently, he was also incorrect about how large (UK) a lunatic asylum could be....
