If so, I would love to try a 3 mile target shoot!
Yes, it will. Gun powder is also oxidizing, which is why a gun will fire under water. Plus the cartridges are sealed, so there would be a 'mini-atmosphere' inside the cartridge.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

Interesting, maybe I'll test that out next time I'm in my neighbor's plastic pool!

Sounds like a job for Mythbusters.
Setup a vacuum chamber and cut loose with some 45ACP

They did the pool test on Mythbusters with a .45. It worked and even returned to battery about 60% of the time allowing repeat shots.

They already fired guns in a trough of water. Could Mythbusters even make a vacume in a room, or would an inert gas be a reasonable substitute.-Jay

    Mixed sexes on this trip?
Will there be rest areas on this proposed trip?
My wife (like many of her species) cannot travel without at least one stop.
The last Blood Moon Tetrad for this millennium starts in April 2014 and ends in September 2015...according to NASA.

I believe that the *ahem* "rest areas" are built right into the space suits . . .
