You Mean HALO "High Altitude Low Opening"
I just watched the video I guess they are doing "High Altitude High Opening" jumps HAHO
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
--Mayor Marion Barry, Washington , DC .
HaHo = High Altitude, High Opening.
HaLo = High Altitude, Low Opening.
HaHo jumps are used when you really need stealth deployment.
Jump from High Altitude around 25,000 ft or more while on oxygen bottle and you also deploy your chute at a High Altitude so you can use your chute to steer over great distances. In fact you can land several miles from your jumping off point. Enemy radar sees your deployment plane as a commercial airliner.

"The gun is the great equalizer... For it is the gun, that allows the meek to repel the monsters; Whom are bigger, stronger and without conscience, prey on those who without one, would surely perish."
HALO = High Altitude Low Opening - Jump out at a high altitude but do not pull your rip cord until below 1000 feet (generally closser to 500)
HAHO = High Altitude High Opening - Jump out at a high altitude and pull your rip cord as soon as you are stable. Used for an insertion where you need to travel a long distance AFTER leaving the airplane.
My jumps were mostly LaLo, except for the ones with a malfunction, which werejumps . . .

I have heard that if you do it right, in a HaHo jump, you can drift for an hour or so. I personally have never done any jumps, only rappelling.

But the plane was still flying, why would they want to leave it?
Actually it's a pretty cool insertion technique for a specific type of job.

Old joke. Why don't blind people skydive?
It scares the hell out of the seeing eye dog.
I, my wife, sister, brother, 2 cousins have skydived before what a rush. I have never used any sort of illegal drug but I do not think and illegal drug can match the high that you get jumping out of a plane.
Side Note to the people in NY or visting. Only one place to jump Skydive NY, NJ and CT. Skydive The Ranch located in Gardiner, NY. The premier dropzone in the Northeast. Skydiving for novices and experienced jumpers.
