Flame Fest!
Yeah - the naval kind, with big guns!! I expect folks have seen one or more of these pics, as they have been around a while. But thought I'd show 'em all together as a celebration of naval times gone by. Well - almost.
First is USS New Jersey, 1984, then second is same but dated 1990. Third is USS Iowa and fourth is unidentified.
When I see this firestorm - I think how that much propellant could keep a whole state's reloaders happy - for a lifetime

Have you ever seen the size of the grain used in the powder bags for those thngs? You'll play hell getting them in anything you'd be reloading!

if i remember correctly, the standard load is approx. 660 lbs. of powder per barrel. 660x9=5940 lbs. KABOOM

Were these not still KC, Battleship class? I don't recall Destroyer class having 16"s.
