About LinkBacksI got this video sent from a friend, he found this huge dead snake on his porch; I thought it was impressive enough to post.
Anybody know what kind it is? I've never seen one with these markings and scale pattern, then again, I'm no snake expert.

It looks like a rainbow boa constrictor but at that size it's got to be a python or anaconda. Maybe albino, not a true albino but a milder case.
Looked at the head again... definitely a python.

What type snake... well there are only two kinds... dead ones, and poisonous ones... I would say that is the latter.

Well, this is perhaps as good a place as any to tell this one...
On April Fools' Day when I was a biology teacher many years ago I doctored up an 11' x 7" diameter cardboard carpet tube with all sorts of stickers: "Caution Live Animal", "DELIVER BEFORE 3 PM!", a FedEx bill of lading, and an invoice from "Western Reptile Importers" announcing the contents as "Python, 10', Female, Pregnant" (note: they lay eggs, but the secretaries didn't know that). I then waited until 6 PM when everyone was gone, and leaned it up against the switchboard in the main lobby... and broke out one end and sprinkled a little bit of huge snakeskin (from a nine-footer I had years earlier) on top of the desk below the opening, and under each secretary's desk throughout the building. They spent all day convincing themselves that it was a joke...
Then, after school let out, I visited an old student who had a huge pet python, borrowed it, returned to the Admin building and walked through it with the snake draped over a shoulder and around my arm and waist, announcing in a loud voice, "It's all right, ladies - I found her!" You can imagine the reactions.
I haven't done any April Fools' gags since then - figured it was pretty hard to top.
Um, there might be something dead in that video, don't think its the snake.

I thought python due to size,coloring, etc...... then when I saw the head ... I thought you might be right.... it might be a boa...
If it strikes like that... it might end up a big dead snake.
