    The saying "The whole nine yards" came from WW1 when belted ammo for aircraft machine guns was 27 feet. Pilots would remark that they " Gave them the whole nine yards".
    I haven’t heard any of the journalists who volunteered to be waterboarded asking to have their fingernails wrenched out with pliers, or electrodes attached to their genitals.

    I did know the altitude of Geostationary Orbit though, the satellite in the pic is SBS 6 which I transmitted many a live shot on in my time.

    The Arkansas River may be the only river whose pronunciation changes as it crosses state lines. In Kansas, it is called the Arkansas (ahr-KAN-zuhs). On both sides of Kansas (Colorado and Oklahoma ), it is called the Arkansaw.
