    Wow, it's an early Christmas

Mrshonts decided to surprise me with an early Christmas - a 23" Apple Cinema Display! I had been wanting one for a long time, and the prices have finally started dropping. The clarity is unbelieveable. I've been designing on a 17" Apple CRT for years. Mrshonts initially bought the 30", but sadly, it only works with the new G5s, and I'm on one of the last model G4s, and I'm not doing a computer upgrade until a few years from now (computers are obsolete the day after they hit the market, it seems).

Now I can see an entire SWAT spread without scrolling around and zooming in. It'll make my workflow faster. It should also help my eyes a great deal - I have terrible eyesight and this larger monitor seated further away from me is already easier on the eyes. My optometrist had already scolded me about my computer time.

    ----

Mrshonts received a S&W 442 (5-shot, .38 Spl. +P Centennial with wood grips) as his early Christmas present.

    That Betty is cool indeed.

I wear special glasses for puter - just the ideal focal length, with correction - plus have 2 x 21" std CRT screens running on Hydravision.

Darned if I know what I'd do now just on one but can imagine your new one is pretty much enough on its own. What res do you run - I imagine quite high if you can see a whole mag page now.

I run 1600x1200 and still can never fit enough on

Oh and - why wait for Xmas

    Nice Betty

    Congrats!
And a nice plus of making your work go easier.
    Easier Means Quicker....& Quicker...
means more time to spend w/ Mr. Shonts.
Seems like a very mutually beneficial gift.

I'm running 1920 x 1200 - thank goodness I don't need two monitors for work! That 17" CRT was a real beast to move and took up too much table space - I can only imagine what your table looks like, P95!

I had the 30" hooked up for a few minutes until we realized I couldn't achieve adequate resolution with my older computer. But that thing was so big it filled up my peripheral vision!

You get used to that tho!! My primary mon is straight ahead, suspended, but for the #2 I have to turn head to left a bit - no biggie - anyways #2 carries routine secondary stuff most of time - just now and again I open images up across both.

My table Betty <cough> - well tables actually - but the clutter around the work area is such I doubt I could show a pic without considerable embarrassment LOL!

Oh hang on let me cheat!! Here is a pic close to accurate from 2 years ago - before things got real cluttered! Second mon' from right is now right up tight to left of suspended primary - at that period I had three machines all running all time, one as a sorta server/test deal. Now, way too much detritis

That's quite a setup you have there, P95!

What and where am I carrying? I've got my USPc in a bellyband and a Colt Cobra on the ankle.

Nice! I got a 20" last year when I got my dual G5. I love it since I can have two pages up side by side. Every once in a while I'll toss a DVD in and play it just to remind myself how clear things look on it.
