    Olympics National Anthem

Anyone hear the National Anthem at the Olympics last night?

How about we let each county provide there own track of the national anthem.

My High School band director always said the National Anthem is to be played quickly with pride, not slow as a funeral march, plus I would prefer they play it correctly and to the end, no cut off mid-note.

The National Anthem only need to be long enough to have a few tear drops run down the athletes faces.
Short but sweet version seems to work – I like the end of the Nation Anthem the best, when the tears are there the USA flag is rising…and the home of the brave!

Yeah, I didn't care for the abbreviated version very much.

I was glad to see that Michael Phelps and the other Americans held their right hands over their hearts during the National Anthem. That is so often forgotten.

What I absolutely hate to see is one of our athletes celebrating or taking a victory lap with the American flag draped around their shoulders, sometimes with the flag dragging on the ground! That just sets me off!

When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

That would be OK, had it been a short version. It was a "cut it now" version, in the middle of a verse.

Agreed. Phelps could not have sung along, it was impossible to follow the tune half the time.

Wow. People are actually watching the Olympics. I think the U.S. should have skipped them myself.
