Unhappy My Local Wal-Mart Snack Bar Closed

The snack bar at my local Wal-Mart has closed and all the equipment (tables, chairs, the counter, cooking gear) was gone. When I went to customer service to inquire why, nobody knew. I finally found an associate who told me that the snack bar lease was not renewed but didn't know when, if ever it would re-open.

Meanwhile, the area now holds cases of snacks and softdrinks. I hope MacD's or Subway doesn't end up in there.

Guess it will have to be the 'Target Stroll' for the CCW rookies.

I'm gonna miss the nachos & soft pretzels.

MickyDee's at my Walmart. No nachos when i got my CWL. I did a browse and buy a case of ammo when I got my CWL. I added no nachos to my list of many reasons for never going to Walmart again.

Let's take it easy there Ken. I love Subway and one of our local Walmart stores has one in it in place of the old snack bar. Subway is a great and healthy place to eat. Way better for you than the nachos and soft pretzels.

But, I learned about a year ago that all of the Walmart snack bars were closing. Walmart is doing away with them because they can make more money off the leases with establishments like McDonalds and Subway.

So, the old style Walmart snack bar is a thing of the past. If the store near you still has one, you better enjoy it while it lasts because it is on the way out.

They're all closing? What will the future CCWers do?

I like Subway too. We have one in our town plus two MacD's (both owned by the same franchise holder).

I don't think that another Subway or MacD's, or any national franchise for that matter, can be put in our Wal-Mart unless it belonged to one of the existing franchise holders in our town. They would all fall inside the contractual 'competition exclusion radius'. The town is just too small, area wise.

Why do so many "gun people" frequent Wal Mart ? LOL

Hey, just an observation, but I don't spend much time in a Wal Mart. I get my ammo online and I don't have to eat pretzels to do it.

Reminds of something funny I heard last night.

I never considered Walmart for its fine cuisine, eloquent dining, or as a social gathering place. When I do stop in for a purchase, it's in and out / get it and go

You guys know I am a proponent of the nacho thing, but I think Subway is a good substitute in a weird twisted way. Lately places like that have been attacked by BGs so a CCWer may end up not only doing the official DC First Time Carry pilgrimage but getting a little trigger time while at it.
Just kidding! I hope nobody ever has to use his gun in anger.

Generally the Walmarts around here are frequented by (insert race of choice since all apply) trash and have crappy goods. Target has many of the same general items but then has far more upscale and tasteful goods. I never go to Walmart.
