An authentic Jackelope is a Jackrabbit with Pronghorn Antelope antlers.

The creature is native to Wyoming. They don't migrate.

I've seen one. The fact that I was severely under the influence of intoxicating spirits at the time is irrelevant...

I don't know what a Jackrabbit with deer antlers is called...

Dude...everyone knows there are two types of Jackalopes, the eastern and the western, the western being antelope horned and the eastern showing whitetail charachteristics.

We happen to have the eastern version hanging up at our Coltons restaraunt, so I know for a fact that they are out there.

I heard awhile back that a coyote jumped one and got severly gored. This was seen though a scope and witnessed by two other hunters. They took pity on the coyote and decided not to shoot him as his hide was messed up as to make it unmarketable.. They said that the jackolope dang near killed the thing. I know that to be true because they all swore on their bottles of Jack Daniels...and that is not something that a man takes lightly...

Sorry I have to disagree with you. There are a number of subspecies ranging from the southwest to the north central areas. Had to shoot a couple of the pesky critters myself in New Mexico.

I once saw a Jackapheaslope. Weird Critter. Head of rabbit body of a pheasant and antlers.
