Interesting Olympic medal statistics in shooting

According to the "official" page, there is one more shooting event to finish, but it is, I believe, essentially complete. Here is the breakdown between the top two medal winners to date, USA and China.

    USA

Gold Team United States Men's Double Trap (150 targets) Final
Gold Team United States Men's Skeet (125 targets) Final
Silver Matthew Emmons Men's 50m Free Rifle Prone (60 shots) Final
Silver Team United States Women's Skeet (75 targets) Final
Bronze Jason Turner Men's 10m Air Pistol (60 shots) Final
Bronze Team United States Women's Trap (75 targets) Final

    China

Gold Wei Pang Men's 10m Air Pistol (60 shots) Final
Gold Li Du Women's 50m Standard Rifle 3 Positions (3x20 shots) Final
Gold Ying Chen Women's 25m Sport Pistol (30+30 shots) Final
Gold Wenjun Guo Women's 10m Air Pistol (40 shots) Final
Silver Qinan Zhu Men's 10m Air Rifle (60 shots) Final
Silver Zongliang Tan Men's 50m Free Pistol (60 shots) Final
Bronze Team China Men's Double Trap (150 targets) Final

China has more Gold and more medals, yet firearms are illegal there.

Firearms may be illegal for the average citizen, but how many on the China shooting team are in the military?

Bring on the Chinese, 4 Chinese to 1 American seems like good odds to me.

Till you run out of ammo and are overrun. The Germans knocked out 4 + Shermans for every Panther that we knocked out. We still won.
I havenít heard any of the journalists who volunteered to be waterboarded asking to have their fingernails wrenched out with pliers, or electrodes attached to their genitals.

I'm imagining 1 angry Marine and 1 angry Ranger side by side taking score like those two in "The Lord of the Rings"...

Until the Air Force shows up and drops a MOAB on them!

If they were a French marine and ranger they would surrender and throw down their weapons without firing a shot, and start cooking them crepes (giving them attitude the whole time about how superior the french are, of course).

If it was the french Air Force they would drop the bombs on their own guys and blame someone else.

Sorry for the anti french rant. Have to go to Montreal Monday and I'm feeling sorry for myself.

Course the Marine would be bitching, on how the soldier had better equipment and was able to take an easier shot do to his (the Marines) forward advancement.
