A couple of days off from work...19th wedding anniversary.

My wife and I took today and tomorrow off from work (and boy did I need it). Tomorrow, the 19th of August, is out 19 year wedding anniversary. Not bad for a couple of people who met on a blind date that neither of us knew was a blind date. I asked her to marry me 30 minutes after we met, (I would have asked right away but I waited a half hour so I wouldn't look like an idiot.) and she said yes. We didn't even know each other's last names yet.

20 years later (her Mother insisted we wait a year before the wedding) and 5 kids later, we are still the happiest married couple I know. Both 40 years old and if we go out to a movie or to the mall of someplace, we hold hands. Almost never fight and when we do, we don't even raise our voices.

So we took a couple of days off and we are just spending the day together. Nothing special except being with each other, which is very special to both of us!.

    Congratulations.

Only thing better would have been to spend a day at the range together. lol.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Congratulations, considering the life span of some marriages that is an admirable accomplishment.

    Congratulations!

My young bride and I celebrated ours a couple of weeks ago. I did the same thing. Took 3 days off and we just enjoyed our own company. One cool thing we did was to go to a place outside of Austin to take a canopy tour, where you ride the ziplines through the treetops. A lot of fun.

It's a great thing when your spouse is also your best friend.
    Cheers,

Congrats, Mike, and to your wife, also.

My wife and I are working on year number 45 now.
