Yet Another Pit Bull Attacking Small Child

My question: Why in the world would a day care center own a pit bull? It boggles the mind.

Toddler Attacked By Pit Bull Outside Day Care - Baltimore News Story - WBAL Baltimore

ABERDEEN, Md. -- Police continued to investigate Tuesday after an 18-month-old boy suffered a serious head injury when he was attacked by a pit bull outside a day care Monday.

The Aberdeen Police Department said the day care provider was unaware the boy had gone out a rear door and into the back yard of the residence, where the encounter with the pit bull took place.

The boy is being treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Harford County Animal Control units took custody of the dog. Police said health department officials are assisting in the investigation.

The day care is located in the 800 block of Edmund Street.

Sounds as if it's a private residence doing daycare.

Lots of blame to go around here, and I'll start with the parents who didn't do their own due diligence.

    I have one solution.

LEAD POISONING FOR THE PIT BULL.

Charges and serious jail time for the dog owner

That's the real issue. Did the parents know about the dog? And if they did, they chose to leave their kid there?
When in doubt, just ask yourself, "What would Theodore Roosevelt do?"

Pit Bulls and other animals, are running way behind the number of Parents and babysitters killing children. More children die playing with non-secured guns. More children die of drowing. The combination of irresponsible people, parents not watching their kids, and people who abuse kids are more often the cause in all of these cases..... afterall.... who owned the pitbull and were they being responsible ?

Aberdeen and Baltimore...2 VERY different places. As for the dog stuff...it happens. Dogs are animals. The owners are the ones responsible. It doesn't matter whether it's a pit, or a lab, or a friggin chihuahua.
