    Fretting over Fickle Fay

    Okay,

I am officially going stir crazy.
We have now had over 12" of rain, and still coming.
The streets are flooded. The fireplace is leaking.
    The pool has overflowed twice.

I can't watch another radar screen.
I can't listen to another prediction (all of which have been wrong).
I have read all I can stand for now.
One more picture of Obo on the news and I will lose it.
I haven't been able to exercise.
Because of the flooding I can't get to the range.

Sorry, I had to get it off my chest.

Could be worse. You could be here in Orlando. Little rain, little wind, and yet schools are closed for the 2d day, no trash pickup, and everyone acting like idiots because there's a rainstorm.

I'm over the PC/cover your butt reaction to these things. Aaaarrrgggh!

Somehow we ended up with a couple inches of sand in the street here. Other than that, some minor wind.

I'm right in the "expected" area of Fay's 'second' landfall and I'm sick of radar screens too. No range time, golf courses here are already swamps, and I just got the "standby to standby for reacall" message on my office phone. Guess I'll be 10-8 till this 'blows through'. Oh what fun.

I'd send ya some if I could Sixto. If the water gets any higher here the bluegills and catfish are gonna eat up my garden.

Anybody have pictures of storm damage to post? My young son loves to hear about and see mother natures fury.

We're supposed to see her in a day or so. Forecasting a left turn at Jacksonville, last I heard.

    No.

Finally couldn't take it anymore, so the daughter, her boyfriend and the Heinz 57 mutt my wife likes to call a dog went for a walk. Winds were probably 30mph. Rain going sideways. Water up to our knees in the streets at times. Fish in the streets.

There were canoes, kayaks, surfboards, bikes, trikes, walkers, skimboards, fire trucks, cable guys and cops. But, no kite surfers.

BTW, it has FINALLY quit pouring (occasional sprinkles, but much better-tho the wind has picked up significantly-very strange storm).

Oh, and we have received 20.71 inches of rain in about 40 hours.
My wife asked me today, "What's the record for how long this can go on?"
My answer? "40 days and 40 nights."

    Fickle fay

I'm about 20 miles north of St. Augustine and have no idea what to expect. I, like the rest of us, can no longer look at radar screens. Hopefully it will just be a rain event but I think we will see flooding also.

I'm in NE Orange County, it's finally started to pick up here as far as rain and wind at around 7pm tonight, 21 hours later than "predicted"!
