DALLAS (AP) -- A suspected drunken driver whose license is suspended has been charged today over a deadly wreck in Dallas County.
Officials say 22-year-old Uriel Perez Palacios of Dallas remains hospitalized in fair condition following the accident early yesterday.
His passenger is hospitalized in critical condition.
Police say Palacios is charged with two counts of murder and three counts of intoxication assault. Palacios has four previous DWI arrests.
Authorities say Palacios was driving erractically when the vehicle raced away from a deputy, ran a red light and ended up striking two SUVs.
Five SMU students in one vehicle were hurt, including one with a broken arm and two hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Two newlyweds in the other SUV were killed -- 24-year-old Erika Clouet and 23-year-old German Clouet of Irving.
