It's good to be back in the gun store sometimes..
I must be crazy, but with only two months left to go until JD and I welcome our son into the world I got a second job.
I'm a receptionist at a parent resource center so it's nice to sit down as staying on my feet all day is beginning to become a little taxing.
During my interview my new boss looked at my application, saw that I worked at a gun shop and asked if I knew a lot about guns.
I said, "Yeah."
She said, "Oh."
And that was that.
While in training I've been working less at the gun shop and my conversation during the day is about diapers, weaning, teething, child birth and everything else baby related.
It's a good resource for a first time mom, but after three days I went back into the gun store, sat on my stool by the counter, got my first customer and there we were chatting up Glocks, XDs, 1911s, Bersas, Tauruses, calibers and holsters.
No baby talk. No cooing. No cutesy chatter about nurseries, clothes and whether or not your should let your child have a pacifier. Just guns!
I felt refreshed.
Who knows what will happen after the little guy is hatched. Maybe he can come to the gun store with me and teach our customers (and a few of the staff) a thing or two. Cause you know he's going to be born talkin' guns.
Just two months till the big day!
Till then, I still remain the pistol packin' mama...

You're gonna do fine.
Once "Pistol Pete" pops, you'll need to choose, though. Range time ... diaper time ... range time ... diaper ... JD! Where's JD!!
You'll need to ask ol' Pete, though, once he gets to talkin', what it was like to have a beavertail in his beavertail.

I was just wondering when we'd hear an update on Señor Lump. Hope all is well for him and his parents-to-be.
And you look like you've swallowed a watermelon.
Whole.

Do you have a just little Marine in there, or a little Marine with a ruck and full combat load?

Lima I can certainly see why you would rather be sitting than standing behind a counter all day.
Congrats to you and JD.

Hey lima...just think of how "feather light" a full-size-full-weight 1911 is going to feel...after you shed those extra pounds that you have been lugging around.

Just an update, the due date according to the Docs is Nov 18th, and Lump actually has a name now, although I'm sure "Lump" will stick for years as a nick name, we've decided on Garrett Matthew as first and middle.
