Best way to find forum members from home state
Anyone know the best way I can find fellow Arkies here in the forum? I already know of quite a few, and they have been recent newbies, and some regular posters. Once in a while a long time member will come out of the woodwork and post and I'll catch it. Any way I can actually find or make a list of forum Arkansans? Search criteria? I've got that Arkansas open carry petition I've been circulating given the opportunity, and I've passed the torch here mainly via PM's. I'd just like to catch some of those I haven't yet. Good suggestions are always accepted. Thanks.
By the way.......the petition has over 300 signatures as of this week.

Go to Members List in the blue nav bar, select Search Members, then select Advanced Search, type in Location, then select Search Now.

I don't find a 'search members' link after I click the 'members list' link, and the usual 'search' link is there, but just search forums or blogs. I've actually tried to get to where I want looking for ways to filter my searches. I know some sites have filters in the search criteria for this. Actually some have regional and state specific forums. It wouldn't be a bad idea being that most every state is different in their laws and all. I know the little extras cost, but it seems this site grows tremendously over time and I don't see that trend slowing down. I think I've posted subjects before related to home staters also....threads like that go way back toward the history channel very quickly due to the activity around here.

Look for the blue bar that states "DefensiveCarry Concealed Carry Forum: Members List Search Members" under the alphabet.

I've thought that too Ramrod. A state specific niche would be a good thing, especially for the same questions that get asked over and over and over.
Not to mention the answers to the questions would actually be accurate, since every state is different.

JD...
OK, OK...I'm old and hard to train...
I went to the member search site...when I entered Florida I only got members with Florida in their names...
How would one get all the FL members?
What did I miss?

Look at all three screen captures I posted...
Did you enter Florida in the field that says LOCATION or USER NAME? Also do variations such as FL.
The search is only as good as the info in the database, people that put in little bits of humor such as "South East" will do no good in this application.
You go to the members list, then mouse over Search Members, click on the Advanced Search option, that opens advanced search options shown in the third screen capture. That's where you put in your search criteria in the given fields.

In searching for Oregon folks, I've used the following strings in the MemberList / Advanced / Location field:
That gets the folks who indicate a Location value. It doesn't find those who choose not to post a Location value, though.
Over on OpenCarry.org, there's a feature to search by state: click but, again, it only finds those who put the State name in the Location field.
I've seen some forums allow a similar search, but they leverage the IP number assignments, which I think can be filtered to get certain geographic regions.
