Foot In Mouth of the Week
Goes to Mr Ted Aiman. Mr Aidman wrote the following letter to the editor of the Miami Herald:
I will ignore the dumb Monday-Morning quarterbacking remarks in favor of that warm fuzzy feeling given by 200,000 volts of electricity going through a possible explosive artifact inside a crowded airplane.
Air marshals overreacted
Rigoberto Alpizar, a psychologically ill man, was killed instead of being temporarily stunned. Today, we have appropriate high-tech stun guns that could have saved his life and, possibly, creatively helped another human being.
The federal air marshals involved obviously were not properly trained, because the outcome was death and not a significant learning experience.
Hopefully, this tragedy will be used as a classic example of what not to do and what needs to happen -- including rational, empathetic human communication.
