    Hunkered Down for Hurricane Ike

The winds are starting to whip around pretty good, the clouds have been swirling and the outer bands of Ike are starting to ease inland. My family and I are hunkered down for the night. We have plenty of food and water and are waiting for the storm. Just thought I'd give ya'll alittle insight into what's going on here in Texas as Ike makes landfall. I don't know how long we will have power, but I'll keep making updates as long as there's power.

Current tracking will bring part of the eye over us here in Sugar Land. Winds are currently blowing about 30-40mph and are picking up slowly. Gust estimates are 80-100mph inland, but the storm could still intensify. Hopefully this will pass without too many fatalities, but about 30% of the Galveston Island residents didn't evacuate and now they are cut-off.

    I'll check back later.

I know it gets kind of hot down there in Texas. Wanna borrow one of my fans?

Stay safe, dry and report back how it was. I would like to get an eye witness report.

Stay safe. I love Galveston (lived there for a few years and wouldn't mind moving back).

Hopefully Kemah Boardwalk will be ok! ;)

I moved to South Texas not quite 2 years ago and weve had more severe hurricanes this year than ever

    global warming..

While getting some last minute Pop Tarts for Ike, I was telling this guy in line with me that I had had taken care of security supplies earlier. He asked me if I had bought more plywood and I told him no, more ammo.

Kemah and Toddville already under water. Without any rain, some of the creeks and bayous were overflowing their banks just on the tidal surge. Can't be too careful!

    ^^^ You're such a turd!!

Wife here... No, he did not get any beer and pop tarts, but those were the main items that were bought according to the local news. And no, he did get any ammo, because we already were well stocked. ;)

Lots of wind and finally some rain. It's been over two months since we've had rain since Gustav didn't bring any to us. My plants have been so dry and I've been sweating so much watering the garden so often. So I am thankful for the rain.
